Description

The DS-TPSML1A is an active single-pair Format-A sender designed to transmit microphone or line-level audio over twisted-pair cabling. It accepts a balanced XLR input and provides studio-quality preamplification optimized for typical mic and line operating levels. The module supports IEC P24 phantom power for condenser microphones and offers remote powering options.

Key features include switch-selectable mic/line operation, selectable mic gain settings, and switchable assignment to Format-A pairs A, B or C. The unit provides signal and power pair pass-through on both RJ45 jacks to support daisy-chaining of multiple senders. A front-panel blue LED in the XLR connector indicates module power status.

Performance specifications include a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (+/- 0.25 dB), THD+N below 0.1% across the audio band, and headroom greater than 18 dB above +4 dBu. Mic gain options are 46 dB (MIC LOW) and 60 dB (MIC HIGH), while LINE is unity gain. Common-mode rejection exceeds 65 dB in mic high settings and is higher in other settings.

Connectivity is via an XLR input and RJ45 Format-A output jacks. The module feeds one selected audio pair and provides passthrough of the power pair and all three audio pairs to downstream modules. Power can be supplied locally via the detachable terminal block or remotely through the twisted-pair cable from compatible Format-A devices.
