Description

The D-RN2ML is a wall-mounted Dante/AES67 2×2 audio interface that converts local mic and line sources to network audio and converts network channels to balanced line outputs. It supports a front-panel XLR mic/line input and a summed stereo mini-jack input, and provides two balanced rear-panel outputs. PoE powers the unit and front-panel LEDs indicate network sync and power status.

Software-selectable gain settings cover mic and line levels and allow P48 phantom power when the XLR is set to mic. The outputs include a software-controlled attenuator adjustable in 1 dB steps to -63 dB and OFF. High-resolution 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion supports sample rates up to 96 kHz.

The module operates over a 100 Mbps Ethernet link and supports Dante and AES67 protocols. Input noise and distortion figures are engineered for studio-quality fidelity with equivalent input noise below -128 dBu at highest gain and THD+N under 0.1 percent. Balanced outputs deliver nominal +4 dBu at -18 dBFS and maximum +22 dBu headroom for downstream amplification or line-level destinations.

Connectivity includes an RJ45 network connector with Link and Speed indicators, a front XLR for mic or line sources, a front mini-jack stereo input summed to mono, and two balanced outputs on a detachable wiring block. The module is configured with RDL CONSOLE or compatible network control software for gain, phantom power, and output attenuation. It integrates into standard Dante control workflows for routing and monitoring.

Common applications include broadcast studios, installed AV systems, conference rooms, and paging systems where local analog sources must be placed onto a Dante/AES67 network. The software-configurable gain range and phantom power support condenser microphones and consumer-level line sources alike. The compact single-gang form factor enables convenient wall-mounted placement near source locations.

Installation is simplified by US single-gang mounting or optional EP-1 adapter for EU/UK boxes and a Decora-style front plate. The steel chassis and choice of powder-coated or stainless-steel front plates provide robust field durability for continuous operation. Network configuration removes the need for local front-panel controls, streamlining commissioning and remote management.
