Description
The DS-RN02 is a wall-mounted Dante / AES67 network audio interface that converts two digital audio channels to balanced analog outputs. It provides studio-grade 24-bit digital-to-analog conversion and low-noise performance in a single-gang form factor. The unit is PoE powered and designed for continuous duty in commercial installations.
The interface offers two balanced XLR outputs on the front panel and matching detachable wiring block connections at the rear. Each output is software-selectable for mic or line level and includes a software-controlled attenuator in 1 dB steps. Front-panel LEDs indicate PoE power and network sync status for easy diagnostics.
Audio operates at -18 dBFS = +4 dBu nominal with a maximum analog output of +22 dBu and headroom greater than 18 dB. The DS-RN02 supports 24-bit audio at sample rates up to 96 kHz and provides low THD and low noise sufficient for studio-style signal chains. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz within ±0.5 dB for both mic and line modes.
Connectivity includes a single RJ45 network connector supporting Dante and AES67 at 100 Mbps and balanced analog outputs via XLR and detachable screw block. The module is fully configurable using RDL CONSOLE or other Dante-compatible control software and integrates with RDL network remote controls. Link and speed indicators are available on the rear panel and sync and power LEDs are visible on the front.
The DS-RN02 is suitable for broadcast end points, studio patch panels, and installed sound systems where networked audio must be delivered to analog consoles or amplifiers. It accommodates mic-level signals via software pads and supplies line-level outputs for direct feeding of downstream equipment. The unit’s 1 dB step attenuator and mic/line selection simplify level matching across systems.
Installation is straightforward – the module fits a standard US single-gang electrical box and can be adapted to EU/UK square back boxes using the RDL EP-1 adaptor. The front plate is offered in powder-coated or stainless steel finishes and the chassis is constructed from steel for durability. Firmware and configuration are managed over the network, enabling remote setup and monitoring.
