Description
The D SERIES-NVC2 is a networked rotary volume control designed to provide precise level control and muting of one or two Dante/AES67 audio channels. It is a PoE powered wall-mount controller that displays status and level on a full-color LCD. The unit performs digital attenuation on network audio streams that pass through it – delivering consistent, repeatable adjustments.
The D-NVC2 features a detented rotary encoder with programmable acceleration, momentary push-mute, and extended push to access a user menu. Attenuation is adjustable in 1 dB steps from 0 to 63 dB and includes a mute state. Installers can configure channel summing, default menu state, channel names and screen color themes using RDL CONSOLE software.
Technically the device supports Dante and AES67 sample rates of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz and operates on a 100 Mbps Ethernet link. The front panel includes a 240 x 240 pixel color LCD and status LED indicators for network and power. The D-NVC2 applies attenuation digitally to routed network audio and reports attenuation status to compatible RDL remotes.
Connectivity is via a single RJ45 network connector with link and speed LEDs and the unit is PoE Class 0 IEEE 802.3af powered. The D-NVC2 interoperates with Dante/AES67 devices from RDL and other manufacturers and may be remote controlled by compatible RDL remotes like the D-NMC1R or D-NLC1R. Installer configuration and display theme selection are handled through RDL CONSOLE.
Common applications include zone level control for background music or paging outputs, individual level control feeding a power amplifier, and shared-zone operation where multiple local and remote controls adjust the same network channels. The D-NVC2 supports stereo summing to mono when required and provides independent or simultaneous adjustment of two outputs. Its programmable acceleration and visual feedback reduce the risk of abrupt level changes in live environments.
The unit mounts in a standard US electrical box and is available in stainless steel, black or white finishes to match installations. Installer options include inactivity timeouts, passcode locks, and menu defaults to secure control. Field-upgradeable firmware and centralized setup via CONSOLE simplify deployment and maintenance.
