Description
The DS-NMC1R is a network-connected rotary remote control designed to provide local volume adjustment, muting and preset recall across Dante and RDL networked audio devices. It uses a full-color LCD to present volume levels, menu items and status indicators for easy local operation. The unit is PoE powered for simplified installation and centralized power management.
Key controls include a mechanical-detent rotary encoder that adjusts attenuation in 1 dB steps and supports acceleration for fast level changes. A short push of the knob toggles mute and a long push opens the installer menu to access volume, Bluetooth controls or user presets. Installer-programmed PRESETS can set levels, routings and execute RDL CONSOLE commands across one or multiple Dante devices.
Technical performance includes a 240 x 240 pixel color LCD, RJ45 network connector with link and speed LEDs, and 100 Mbps transmission rate over the network. The control reports and sends attenuation level commands to compatible network audio devices and operates in ambient temperatures from 0 C to 50 C. Power is supplied by PoE Class 0 complying with IEEE 802.3af.
Connectivity supports standard Ethernet networks and interoperates with RDL D-RN and DD-RN products as well as third-party Dante endpoints. The installer can configure device assignments and preset targets using RDL CONSOLE, enabling coordinated control of multiple networked products. Bluetooth control functions allow pause/resume and track selection from a connected Bluetooth source.
Typical applications include distributed audio zones where a local user needs easy volume control and preset recall, conference rooms that require source selection and routing changes, and background music systems that must maintain level tracking across multiple local controllers. The bright color display and clear menu structure make it suitable for public spaces and operator stations. Multiple NMC1R units can be assigned to the same devices and will remain active while displaying synchronized level and mute status.
Installation is straightforward: the unit mounts in a standard US electrical box and is powered via PoE to avoid separate power wiring. The installer can program passcode locks on menu functions and refine knob acceleration in RDL CONSOLE for tailored user response. The field-upgradable firmware and selectable display color themes help ensure long-term flexibility and ease of maintenance.
