Description

The DB-TPSML1A is an active single-pair Format-A sender designed to transmit a buffered XLR mic or line signal over a single twisted-pair. It accepts balanced microphone or line-level inputs and provides studio-quality preamplification. The module is optimized for installations requiring remote powering and compact in-line senders.

Key features include switch-selectable mic or line input, rear-panel gain selection, and IEC P24 phantom power for condenser microphones. The unit offers two mic gain settings of 46 dB and 60 dB plus unity gain for line-level sources. A front-panel blue LED in the XLR indicates module power and status.

Performance is engineered for broadcast-quality audio with a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and THD+N below 0.1% across that band. Noise and CMRR specifications are tailored for low-noise live and studio environments, delivering greater than 18 dB headroom above +4 dBu. The precision active balanced circuitry ensures low distortion and excellent hum rejection.

Connectivity is handled via Format-A RJ45 jacks with switch-selectable audio pairs A, B or C and a power pair that passes through to chained modules. The unit supports daisy-chaining of up to three single-pair senders or pairing with a two-pair sender, and local 24 Vdc input is available on a detachable terminal block. Remote powering through the twisted pair cable is supported from any compatible Format-A power source.

Typical applications include broadcast studios, fixed installations in houses of worship, A/V racks, and remote stage locations where a compact XLR sender is required. It is suitable for both dynamic and condenser microphones when phantom power is enabled. The module is also useful wherever shielded cabling is impractical but balanced audio integrity is required.

Installation is straightforward with rear-panel switches that set input mode, gain and output pair selection, and local power is fused and passed to connected modules. The package is offered in stainless steel, black and white faceplates and fits common single-gang mounting boxes. The DB-TPSML1A provides a reliable, low-noise solution for distributed microphone and line-level signal distribution.
