Description

The D-RN2ML is a wall-mounted bi-directional Dante or AES67 audio interface designed to bridge local mic and line sources with network audio. It provides two network transmit channels and two balanced network receive outputs, supporting 24-bit conversion and sample rates up to 96 kHz. The unit is PoE powered and fits a standard US single-gang electrical box – an EP-1 adapter is available for EU/UK boxes.

Front-panel connectivity includes a balanced XLR for mic or line input and a stereo mini-jack summed to mono for line-level sources. The XLR input offers software-selectable mic and line gain settings and P48 phantom power when set to mic level. Two balanced rear-panel outputs on a detachable wiring block provide local analog line outputs with software-controlled attenuation.

High-resolution 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion and selectable sample rates deliver studio-grade audio performance with low noise and high headroom. The XLR preamplifier provides mic gains of 35 dB, 42 dB or 59 dB and line gain options of unity or +12 dB. Network audio operates at -18 dBFS equals +4 dBu reference level to match pro audio systems.

Configuration and gain control are handled through RDL CONSOLE or other Dante-compliant control software and the unit is compatible with RDL network remote controls. Dante or AES67 network transport and standard 100 Mbps Ethernet connectivity ensure broad network compatibility. Status LEDs on the front panel indicate sync and power while rear LEDs show link and speed.

Typical applications include conference rooms, broadcast booths, paging stations and install sound points where mic or line signals must be converted to network audio and routed. The mini-jack input is optimized for -10 dBV sources and can be trimmed by software in 5 dB steps for flexible source matching. The balanced outputs can feed local amplifiers or additional XLR jacks using optional RDL accessories.

The D-RN2ML is built in a steel chassis with a powder-coated or stainless-steel Decora front plate and is engineered for continuous duty in professional installations. PoE Class 0 IEEE 802.3af power simplifies deployment by removing the need for local power supplies. The design emphasizes reliability, field-configurable controls and consistent analog-to-network and network-to-analog performance.
