Description

The DB-RN22 is a wall-mount Dante/AES67 network audio interface designed to bring two microphone or line sources onto a Dante network and to deliver two network channels as balanced line outputs. It accepts two front-panel XLR mic/line inputs and provides two balanced rear-panel outputs on a detachable wiring block. The unit is PoE powered and fits a standard US single-gang electrical box or an RDL WB-1U back box for thin-wall installations.

Input gain is selectable by software with three mic settings and two line settings, and P48 phantom power can be enabled per input when mic-level is selected. The outputs are software-attenuated in 1 dB steps to mute, and each output provides +4 dBu nominal at a digital level of -18 dBFS. High-resolution 24-bit conversion is used for both A to D and D to A paths to preserve audio fidelity.

Performance specifications include support for sample rates of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz (default), 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz, 24-bit depth, frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz within 0.5 dB, and THD+N below 0.1% at operating level. Equivalent input noise is specified down to below -128 dBu depending on gain, and crosstalk is below the noise floor at operating level. The device meets IEC 61938 phantom power standard when P48 is enabled.

Connectivity comprises an RJ45 Dante/AES67 network port with link and speed indicators, two front-panel female XLR inputs, and two balanced outputs on a detachable wiring block. The DB-RN22 is controlled and configured via RDL CONSOLE or other network control software and is compatible with RDL network remote controls. Front-panel LEDs indicate sync and power status for quick local verification.

Typical applications include broadcast studios, fixed-install AV systems, conference rooms and houses of worship where mic sources must be integrated into a Dante network and distributed to local amplifiers or further network endpoints. The unit is suitable for continuous duty installations and for systems requiring remote gain, phantom power and output level control. It can feed local power amplifiers or adjacent XLR jacks when installed in a dual-gang configuration.

Installation is straightforward thanks to single-gang mounting and PoE power delivery, reducing the need for local power wiring. The chassis uses XLR jacks and a steel body with a powder-coated or stainless-steel Decora front plate for durability in commercial environments. RDL engineers the product for long-term reliability and low-noise studio-quality operation.
