Description
The D-RN02 is a wall-mounted Dante or AES67 network audio interface designed to deliver two balanced mic or line outputs from networked audio streams. This module accepts two Dante or AES67 channels and converts them to balanced analog outputs at professional reference levels. It is PoE powered and fits a standard US single-gang electrical box for neat, concealed installation.
The unit provides two front-panel XLR outputs and a rear detachable wiring block for permanent connections. Each front XLR can be software-selected for mic or line operation and each output includes a software-controlled attenuator adjustable in 1 dB steps. Attenuation covers 0 to -63 dB and an OFF state, and mic-level outputs include the same step attenuator referenced to mic level.
Audio conversion is performed using 24-bit digital-to-analog converters and supports sample rates of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz (default), 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz. Nominal operating level is -18 dBFS = +4 dBu and headroom above +4 dBu exceeds 18 dB. Measured distortion and noise figures provide studio-quality performance with THD below 0.01% at 1 kHz and noise below -80 dB referenced to +4 dBu.
Connectivity includes a single RJ45 network port with link and speed indicators and front-panel LEDs for sync and power status. The D-RN02 is Dante compatible and supports 100 Mbps network links using PoE Class 0 IEEE 802.3af power. Configuration and level adjustment are handled via RDL CONSOLE or third-party Dante/AES67 management tools for remote control and integration.
This interface is suited to installed audio applications that require networked audio to feed mixers, amplifiers or consoles via balanced XLR outputs. Typical applications include broadcast studios, houses of worship, corporate AV systems and distributed audio installations where controlled analog outputs are needed. The compact single-gang form factor makes it ideal where wall-mount access is preferred.
Installation is straightforward – the D-RN02 mounts in a standard US single-gang box or an EP-1 adaptor for EU/UK back boxes and is PoE powered to eliminate the need for local AC. Indicators provide visual confirmation of PoE power and Dante sync. The chassis and Decora faceplate are steel with powder-coat or stainless-steel finishes for durable, long-term service in professional environments.
