Description

The DB-BTN21 is a wall-mounted Dante/AES67 network audio interface that provides bidirectional Bluetooth audio and PoE power. It enables wireless devices to send stereo or mono-summed audio into a Dante network and receive a talk channel return from the network. The module is designed for single-gang installation and supports configurable LED status indicators.

Key features include single-button Bluetooth pairing with LED feedback, multicast of Bluetooth track metadata on the network, and the ability to deliver stereo or summed mono feeds across two Dante channels. The unit supports a return audio talk channel from the Dante network back to the connected Bluetooth device to enable full duplex communication. Bluetooth functions can be controlled locally, via compatible RDL remote controls, or through RDL CONSOLE and Q-SYS plug-ins.

Performance specifications include 48 kHz sample rate and 24-bit depth operation over Dante at 100 Mbps Ethernet. Audio operating reference levels are -20 dBFS = +4 dBu balanced and -20 dBFS = -10 dBV unbalanced nominal. The unit indicates Bluetooth and network sync status on the front panel and is PoE powered as Class 0, IEEE 802.3af.

Connectivity is provided via an RJ45 network connector that supplies both audio transport and PoE power. The module multicasts Bluetooth metadata and operational state for use with RDL CONSOLE, compatible remotes, and third-party integrators supporting multicast data. RDL CONSOLE enables configuring the module ID name, mono/stereo mode, LED dim levels, and timeout settings for LED dimming.

Typical applications include conference rooms, huddle spaces, retail paging interfaces, and collaborative areas where guest devices need to inject audio into a networked AV system. The DB-BTN21 is suitable for Q-SYS and Dante/AES67 AV-over-IP deployments where managed Bluetooth input and simple user interaction are required. Remote control integration can manage pairing, playback transport, and level adjustments across multiple modules.

Installation is straightforward – the module fits a US single-gang box or an RDL EP-1 adapter for EU/UK square back boxes and is available in multiple finishes. PoE powering eliminates the need for local DC supplies and simplifies cabling. With configurable settings and multicast metadata support, the DB-BTN21 integrates cleanly into managed AV networks and offers predictable operation for installers and operators.
