Description
The D-TPSML1A is an active single-pair Format-A sender that accepts a balanced XLR microphone or line-level input. It provides a studio-quality preamplifier optimized for microphone and line operating levels. Designed for Format-A twisted-pair audio systems, the module sends one preamplified audio pair over an RJ45 connection.
Key features include switch-selectable mic or line operation, rear-panel gain selection, and IEC P24 phantom power for condenser microphones. The module offers MIC LOW and MIC HIGH gain settings and unity gain for line inputs. A front-panel LED in the XLR indicates module power status.
Audio performance is engineered for clarity with a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz +/-0.25 dB and THD+N under 0.1 percent across the audio band. Noise figures meet professional requirements with values better than -80 dB at MIC LOW and -90 dB at LINE gain. Common-mode rejection exceeds 65 dB across the core microphone settings to minimize hum and interference.
Connectivity includes two RJ45 jacks that pass power and signal pairs, and a rear-panel switch to select which Format-A pair (A, B, or C) carries the audio. The module supports daisy-chaining with other single-pair or two-pair senders and can be remotely powered via the twisted pair. Local 24 Vdc power may be connected via the detachable terminal block and is fused for safety before feeding connected modules.
Typical applications include broadcast and studio mic preamp distribution, remote stage feeds, and fixture-level installations where balanced mic or line signals must travel over twisted pair. The unit integrates into existing Format-A systems to consolidate cabling and simplify distribution topology. Its selectable pair output makes it easy to allocate channel mapping during installation.
The D-TPSML1A is built for reliable field and studio use with a compact wall-box form factor and available finishes in stainless steel, black, or white. Installation requires minimum mounting box depth of 2.4 in and the unit supplies power downstream to connected modules. Overall, the module provides a streamlined solution for sending preamplified mic or line audio over Format-A twisted pair with phantom power and selectable routing.
