Description
The D-RN22 is a wall-mounted bi-directional Dante AES67 audio interface designed to bring professional mic and line level audio onto a Dante network. It provides two front-panel XLR mic/line inputs and two balanced rear-panel outputs, enabling two transmit and two receive channels over Ethernet. The unit is PoE powered for clean single-cable installation and fits a standard US single-gang electrical box.
The module features software-selectable mic gains of 35 dB, 42 dB or 59 dB plus line gain options, and P48 phantom power that can be enabled per input. Network-to-line outputs are balanced and routed to a detachable rear wiring block with a software-controlled attenuator adjustable in 1 dB steps up to 63 dB then OFF. All configuration and gain control are performed using RDL CONSOLE or compatible network control software.
Audio conversion is handled with 24-bit analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters supporting sample rates of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz. The D-RN22 is specified with studio-grade noise and distortion figures including THD+N below 0.1% and equivalent input noise below -128 dBu at maximum gain settings. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz within 0.5 dB.
Connectivity includes an RJ45 network connector with link and speed indicators, two XLR female mic/line inputs on the front, and two balanced outputs on a removable wiring block at the rear. The unit reports sync and power via front LEDs and supports Dante or AES67 digital audio over a 100 Mbps link. It is PoE Class 0 IEEE 802.3af compatible for simple deployments.
Typical applications include stage boxes, conference rooms, classroom AV racks and installation points where local mic inputs must be networked and local balanced outputs are required. The D-RN22 can feed amplifiers or adjacent XLR jacks and integrates with RDL network remote controls for centralized management. Its compact single-gang footprint allows discreet placement in-wall or on-wall.
Built in a steel chassis with a powder-coated or stainless-steel Decora front plate, the D-RN22 is engineered for continuous duty and low-noise studio fidelity. The module ships ready for network configuration and offers optional customized graphics and finishes. Its combination of Dante/AES67 compatibility, PoE power and software control provides a practical networked audio interface solution for commercial installations.
