Description

The D-RN12 is a wall-mounted bi-directional Dante / AES67 audio interface designed to bridge mic or line sources to a network and deliver network channels to local balanced outputs. It provides a front-panel XLR for a mic or line input and a front XLR plus two rear detachable wired outputs for network-fed audio. The module is PoE powered and fits a standard single-gang electrical box for compact installations.

Key features include a software-selectable mic/line input with three mic gain settings and two line settings, optional P48 phantom power, and a front-panel XLR output that can be configured for mic or line level. The unit supports high-resolution 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion and software-controlled attenuation in 1 dB steps for each output. LEDs indicate valid PoE power and Dante sync status on the front panel for quick diagnostics.

Performance specifications include support for Dante audio over 100 Mbps Ethernet, 24-bit depth and sample rates up to 96 kHz. The device provides a nominal +4 dBu output at -18 dBFS and up to +22 dBu maximum output level. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz within 0.5 dB and THD+N is held below 0.1 percent across the audio band, ensuring studio-quality reproduction.

The D-RN12 connects via an RJ45 network port for Dante / AES67 audio and has a balanced XLR front input plus a front XLR balanced output and two rear-panel balanced outputs on a detachable wiring block. Configuration and gain control are handled through RDL CONSOLE or compatible network control software, allowing remote level adjustment and phantom enable. The unit is compatible with RDL Network Remote Controls and standard Dante routing workflows.

This interface is suitable for broadcast, installed sound and commercial AV systems where a compact wall-mounted network audio node is required. Use it to send a local microphone to a Dante network, or to provide network channels to nearby amplifiers or local mixing points. The small footprint and Decora-style plate allow discreet integration into studios, conference rooms and presentation spaces.

Installation is straightforward – the D-RN12 mounts in a US single-gang box or an RDL EP-1 adaptor for EU/UK square boxes and is powered via PoE to remove the need for local power wiring. The chassis features XLR connectors and a steel enclosure with a powder-coated or stainless-steel Decora front plate for durable, continuous-duty operation. Firmware and control via standard Dante tools ensure the unit integrates into managed AV networks with predictable behavior.
