Description
The D-BTN21 is a wall-mounted Bluetooth audio interface that bridges Bluetooth devices to Dante or AES67 networks. It accepts stereo Bluetooth audio or a summed mono feed and presents those sources as two Dante network channels. The unit also provides a return talk channel from the Dante network back to the connected Bluetooth device for full duplex communication.
Key capabilities include single-button Bluetooth pairing with LED status indication, selectable stereo or mono mode, and multicast of track title and artist metadata onto the network. Bluetooth functions are controllable via RDL CONSOLE software, compatible RDL remote controls, or a Q-SYS plug-in. Remote control functions include pairing/un-pairing, media track selection, and level control from the originating Bluetooth device.
Audio performance is engineered for networked environments with 48 kHz sample rate support and 24-bit depth. Network transport uses Dante or AES67 over a 100 Mbps Ethernet connection and the device presents audio at professional operating levels. Indicators on the front panel report Bluetooth status and network sync for simple monitoring.
Connectivity is via an RJ45 network connector that supplies Power over Ethernet (PoE) and network audio. The module fits a standard US single-gang electrical box and can be adapted to EU/UK square back boxes using the RDL EP-1 adaptor. The module name, LED dim intensity, LED timeout and mono/stereo mode are configurable in RDL CONSOLE software.
Typical applications include meeting rooms, hospitality zones, retail audio, and distributed AV installations where temporary or guest device audio must be networked reliably. The return talk channel allows remote participants or paging sources to be heard through a Bluetooth connected device. Multicast metadata and remote control support streamline operation in multi-zone installations.
Installation is simplified by PoE operation, single-gang mounting, and intuitive front-panel pairing. The LED status and configurable dim timeout improve usability in lighting-sensitive environments. Built for integration, the D-BTN21 offers software control, Q-SYS configurability and compatibility with RDL remote controllers for a coordinated AV workflow.
