Description
The Yarden VT-2 is a compact vibrating transducer speaker that converts solid resonant surfaces into audible drivers. It mounts discreetly under or on a surface and uses vibration to distribute sound evenly across that surface. This approach reduces the need for visible conventional loudspeakers and improves room coverage.
Key features include a selectable 70V/100V line transformer and the ability to operate in low-impedance 8 Ohm mode. The unit is rated for 10W RMS power handling and can deliver up to 93dB peak SPL. Its ABS construction and small footprint support a range of mounting positions including under-table, on-wall and in-wall installations.
Performance specifications cover a broad acoustic range with frequency response measured at 20Hz to 3kHz at -3dB and extended response to 20kHz at -10dB. Sensitivity is specified at 80dB +/-3dB at 1W/1m and the device has a measured Q of 6.9 averaged 1kHz to 10kHz. Transformer tap options provide 6W, 3W and 1.5W outputs on both 70V and 100V lines when used in constant-voltage systems.
Connectivity is simple and reliable via red/black push-type terminals suitable for direct wiring. The unit supports both Hi-Z distributed audio systems and Lo-Z amplifier outputs by bypassing the transformer. Materials include ABS757 for the grille and ABS777B for the base plate for long-term mechanical stability.
Typical applications include meeting rooms, hospitality areas and retail displays where discreet, surface-emitted sound is preferred. The VT-2 performs well where even coverage is needed across tables, partitions, doors or walls without visible speakers. It is suitable for both distributed 70V/100V audio systems and standard low-impedance speaker outputs.
Installation is straightforward using the supplied 3M double-sided adhesive or screws for permanent mounting. The compact form factor and robust ABS construction make the VT-2 easy to position and protect from incidental contact. Kramer engineering provides a practical balance of acoustic performance and installation flexibility for professional AV deployments.
