Description

The CL-4P is a low-profile 4 inch in-ceiling two-way closed-back passive speaker designed to deliver clear speech and reliable background music reproduction. It is plenum rated for installation in air-handling spaces and meets UL safety standards for commercial environments. The product balances compact dimensions with high output to suit ceilings with limited clearance.

Key features include a coaxial driver configuration, selectable low-impedance (8ohm) or high-impedance (70V/100V) operation, and a transformer with multiple taps. The speaker provides 20W continuous power handling and up to 30W peak in low-impedance mode. Two magnetic grills in black and white are supplied for discreet aesthetic integration.

Technically the CL-4P uses a 100 mm polypropylene cone low-frequency driver and a 19 mm liquid-cooled soft-dome tweeter to cover a usable bandwidth from 90Hz to 18kHz. Measured sensitivity is 87dB SPL at 1W/1m and maximum continuous SPL at 1m is 100dB. The dispersion pattern is approximately 125 degrees conical in the mid band, providing broad coverage for typical rooms.

Connectivity is handled via a 4-pin pluggable Euroblock connector compatible with 28-12AWG wire sizes and front-access wiring for easy termination and troubleshooting. Transformer taps allow selection of 20W, 10W and 5W on 100V lines and 20W, 10W, 5W and 2.5W on 70V lines. The speaker is plenum rated and certified to UL2043 and UL1480A for fire and smoke performance in commercial installations.

Typical applications include enterprise meeting rooms, classrooms, paging systems and any area with low clearance acoustic ceilings requiring clear speech intelligibility. The low-profile back enclosure and light weight make the speaker suitable for ceilings with limited space above the tile plane. Its SPL and frequency response make it appropriate for both voice reinforcement and background music duties.

Installation is straightforward using the supplied C-ring and dog-ear clamp mounting method and the included cutout template. The magnetic grills are removable and paintable to match interior finishes and the speaker uses eco-friendly mono-material packaging for easier recycling. The steel back enclosure and flame-retardant baffle provide durable construction for long-term deployments.
