Description
The Cloud Store 80TB is a network-attached NVMe storage array designed for multi-user video production and post workflows. It provides 80 TB of M.2 flash storage configured as RAID 5 to balance sustained throughput and data protection. This device delivers low-latency access to large media files across Ethernet for editing, color, audio, and VFX teams.
Performance is driven by a parallel M.2 NVMe memory core that sustains heavy simultaneous workloads and supports Blackmagic RAW files up to 12K. Four 10GbE ports act as an internal switch or can be aggregated for up to 40G total throughput. Two 1GbE ports are reserved for slower links or internet connections, keeping the 10GbE ports dedicated to high-bandwidth editing clients.
The unit includes two 5 Gb/s USB Type-C ports – one for automatic ingest from an attached drive and one for cloud backups to USB media – plus an HDMI monitoring output for a live storage map and transfer graphs. Redundancy is provided by a RAID 5 topology across the M.2 array and dual internal power supplies to maintain operation in the event of a failure. The system will automatically enter read-only mode if a faulty M.2 card is detected so files remain accessible during maintenance.
Connectivity supports Ethernet-over-USB for laptops without native Ethernet ports, and Dropbox sync enables multi-site replication and local caching for global teams. The included Blackmagic Cloud Store utility runs on macOS and Windows and allows network configuration, sync folder setup, and memory rebuilds. The HDMI output displays storage usage, sync status, active users, and transfer speeds for quick on-site diagnostics.
Typical applications include on-location feature film productions, collaborative post houses, multi-camera live capture workflows, and DaVinci Resolve editorial farms. The Cloud Store is optimized for multi-cam editing where dozens of streams and large codecs are played back simultaneously. It also integrates with HyperDeck recorders to capture ISO camera streams directly to shared storage.
Installation is straightforward with DHCP by default and a compact vertical chassis that is whisper quiet for location use. The repairable design allows qualified technicians to replace M.2 cards and internal modules, and wear leveling protects flash longevity. With no subscription costs and local control over data, the Cloud Store is intended for secure, high-throughput media workflows that require predictable network performance.
