Description
The AJA Corvid 88 CRV88-9-T-NC1 is an 8-channel SDI PCIe 2.0 I/O card designed to provide high-density video and audio ingest and playout. This full-length, standard-profile card supports 3G-SDI and can be configured per BNC as input or output. It supports 4K/UltraHD and multi-channel HD/SD workflows to meet demanding broadcast and server-based requirements.
Corvid 88 lets developers access up to eight simultaneous SDI streams on a single PCIe card – each BNC can be set independently as input or output and can carry different formats that share the same clock. The card supports linking connections for Dual Link or 4K/UltraHD operation and offers High Frame Rate operation for smooth motion at 48p/50p/60p. Additional processing includes frame stores, color space converters, mixer/keyer widgets and 1D LUTs.
Technical capabilities include support for 4096×2160 and 3840×2160 4K/UltraHD formats across multiple frame rates and both 8/10-bit YCbCr and 12-bit RGB frame buffer options where application dependent. Audio is handled as 16-channel 24-bit SDI-embedded audio at 48 kHz synchronous. The card is an 8-lane PCIe 2.0 device and consumes typically 21W, with a maximum of 23W.
Connectivity comprises eight 3G-SDI BNC connectors conforming to SMPTE-259/292/296/424/425 and a rear external switchable LTC/Reference input with an additional internal LTC header. A built-in RS-422 control port is provided for frame-accurate device control and the card supports analog color black or HD tri-level sync. No external cables are included with this NC1 model so system integrators can choose cable types to match deployments.
Corvid 88 is suitable for ingest servers, channel-in-a-box systems and high-density playout applications where multiple simultaneous inputs and outputs are required. It supports mixed-format channel operation when all channels use the same master clock which enables flexible channel configurations in live and automated systems. The card includes a three-year warranty for professional deployments.
Installation is straightforward in systems with available PCIe lanes and appropriate chassis ventilation – the card is fanless and requires airflow adjacent to the PCIe shield. It operates across a wide temperature and humidity range and is designed for reliable long-term use in broadcast racks and server chassis. Firmware and driver support via AJA developer channels enable integration into custom workflows and software environments.
