Description
The SYN-CTL-HUB is a compact protocol converter that translates IP control commands into RS-232, relay, and IR outputs – enabling network control of legacy and modern AV devices. It connects to a wired LAN and supports Telnet API control for integration into existing control infrastructures. The unit accepts contact inputs and provides multiple relay outputs for direct device actuation.
Key features include IP-to-serial translation, four relay outputs, a dedicated IR TX port, and contact input monitoring – all accessible over a single Ethernet connection. Power over Ethernet (PoE) support removes the need for a dedicated power supply in many installations. The device supports custom IR command sets and standard RS-232 control strings for maximum compatibility.
Technically the SYN-CTL-HUB presents 1x LAN (PoE) port, 1x RS-232 port, 4x relay ports, 1x IR TX port, 1x contact input and a mini USB update port. Power options include PoE, DC 12V 0.5A and DC 5V via USB and the maximum power consumption is 2.5W. A single reset button and a status LED provide basic local diagnostics during commissioning.
Connectivity is provided via a wired RJ45 Ethernet port supporting Telnet API control, plus physical outputs for IR, RS-232 and relays. The unit is compatible with the Touch10 control pad and standard IP control systems, allowing centralized touchscreen, scheduler, or third-party controller operation. Firmware updates are applied via the mini USB update port or networked processes.
Common use cases include controlling projectors, displays and AV receivers via RS-232, triggering motorized screens or shades via relay outputs, and operating IR-only devices through the IR TX port. Contact input monitoring can be used to detect door sensors, motion detectors or other dry-contact events for automation or logging. The SYN-CTL-HUB simplifies bridging networked control systems to a mix of device interfaces in classrooms, meeting rooms and digital signage installs.
Installation is straightforward – mount using included brackets, connect Ethernet and device cabling, then configure control mappings via Telnet API or the Touch10 integration. The compact metal enclosure and standard control ports make the unit suitable for rack or under-table mounting. Overall the SYN-CTL-HUB delivers a practical IP-to-hardware control bridge that reduces integration complexity and hardware count.
