Description
The iCAST mini is a compact 4K dual-channel presentation switcher designed to simplify live presentations and hybrid events. It combines two HDMI inputs, a program HDMI output and a USB Type-C UVC output to deliver clean video to conferencing platforms. The unit is intended for single-operator workflows and prioritizes fast, repeatable operation.
This switcher features a 7in capacitive touchscreen with one-button-one-function controls and configurable image or graphic icons for shortcuts. It supports picture-in-picture (PIP), program/PIP swapping, and quick access to camera presets and auto-tracking controls. An integrated audio mixer and audio delay calibration are included to keep audio and video synchronized.
Video processing supports 4K input and output at 3840x2160p up to 30fps and 1080p up to 60fps depending on the format. The internal processing mode is 4K/2K 4:4:4 8bit and the HDMI ports conform to HDMI 1.4. A USB 3.0 Type-C UVC device output provides driver-free connectivity to conferencing applications at up to 4K30 or 1080p60.
Connectivity includes 2 x HDMI 1.4 inputs, 1 x HDMI 1.4 output, 1 x USB 3.0 Type-C UVC output, two combo XLR/TRS mic inputs, stereo RCA line outputs, and a headphone jack. Camera control is available over DVIP / RS-422 / RS-232 for PTZ integration and preset recall. Firmware updates are handled via USB for field upgrades.
Typical applications include corporate training, hybrid classrooms, lecture capture and mid-size conference rooms where a single operator manages video switching and camera tracking. The iCAST mini is compatible with common conferencing platforms via UVC and integrates with Datavideo PTZ cameras for auto-tracking. Image key thumbnails and preloaded graphic icons speed up live switching and camera preset selection.
The chassis uses a unibody design and the unit is powered by a DC 12V adapter with 18.7W consumption, keeping the footprint small and installation straightforward. Built-in audio mixing, A+V switching and hardware-based video processing reduce the need for external gear. Datavideo Academy resources and tutorial videos are available to accelerate setup and operator training.
