Description

HELO Plus is a compact H.264 streaming and recording appliance designed to encode and deliver live video streams while creating local recordings. It supports up to 1080p60 capture and simultaneous streaming plus recording, enabling consistent delivery of live content. The unit is intended for operators who need a simple, independent encoder/recorder that integrates into broadcast and streaming workflows.

The appliance accepts both 3G-SDI and HDMI inputs and provides matching 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs for monitoring or downstream distribution. It can stream to two independent destinations simultaneously and record to SD card, USB storage, or network shares such as NFS or SMB. Hardware Picture-in-Picture and onboard graphics upload allow overlays and multi-source presentations without external processors.

HELO Plus encodes H.264/MPEG-4 up to 20 Mbps and supports Baseline, Main, and High profiles for flexible compatibility across CDNs and players. Audio encoding uses AAC-LC at 48 kHz and supports 2-channel stereo by default; optional 4-channel audio enables two stereo pairs for multi-language streams. Protocol support includes RTMP/RTMPS, RTSP, HLS, RTP-TS/UDP, and SRT in both caller and listener modes for secure and reliable transport.

Connectivity includes 1x 3G-SDI and 1x HDMI input and output, embedded SDI/HDMI audio, an analog stereo input and output on 3.5 mm TRS, a front-mounted SD card slot and USB port, and Gigabit Ethernet for streaming and network storage. The device supports recording to exFAT or FAT32 media and network-mounted SMB or NFS volumes. Integrated web-based control provides preview, configuration, and scheduling via the built-in web server.

Typical use cases include live event streaming, news and sports contribution, eSports broadcasting, education and campus streaming, and corporate or worship services requiring simple live encoding and simultaneous recording. HELO Plus is also suitable for field deployments where compact size and straightforward operation are priorities. The unit supports AV Mute and user-uploaded graphics to manage pre-live and standby content.

Installation is plug-and-play through a web UI and simple front-panel controls including dedicated Stream and Record buttons. Power is supplied via the included universal AC adapter to a 12 Vdc mini XLR input and the chassis is designed for desktop or rack-shelf use in broadcast racks. Firmware options such as PlayToStream and 4-channel audio can be trialed and licensed to extend functionality while AJA provides a three year warranty for long-term deployments.
