Description

The ATEM Microphone Converter expands analog microphone inputs into MADI channels for professional live production workflows. It converts four mic/line XLR inputs into a single MADI stream so you can route multiple microphones into an ATEM Television Studio. The unit includes HDMI monitoring and remote control ports to simplify system setup and monitoring.

Four combo XLR-1/4″ inputs are mic/line selectable and support 48V phantom power for condenser microphones. The converter uses 32-bit float digital preamps to maintain clip-free signal capture and to reduce the need for aggressive analog gain stages. An HDMI output displays scrolling waveforms and level meters so you can verify signals visually on a monitor.

Each input uses a multi-ADC design that combines eight ADCs per channel to achieve 131 dBA dynamic range and extremely low distortion of 0.002 percent. The device records at 24-bit 48 kHz and delivers a fixed noise floor of -129 dBV, preserving headroom and clarity for both loud and quiet sources. Digital preamplification in 32-bit float lets you adjust gain with greater precision before levels are finalized in the switcher audio mixer.

Connectivity includes dual BNC MADI ports for 64-channel AES10-2020 compliant audio, USB-C and Ethernet for remote administration and firmware updates, and an HDMI monitor output for status display. The MADI input allows daisy chaining multiple converters so channels stack on a single MADI link. The converter is designed to interface directly with Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio products for seamless integration.

This converter is ideal for small studios, live event rigs, and broadcast desks that require low-noise multichannel mic inputs without adding large analog preamp stages. It streamlines microphone integration by embedding four channels into the open MADI standard, enabling flexible routing and centralized mixing on the ATEM switcher. Use cases include podcast studios, remote production trucks, and multi-microphone panel discussions where consistent gain and headroom are critical.

The unit ships in a compact metal enclosure and runs from a supplied 12 VDC power supply for simple rack or desktop placement.
