The ATEM Television Studio 4K8 is an all-in-one 8-input live production switcher designed to handle UHD 4K60 workflows. It combines switching, streaming, recording, audio mixing and multiview monitoring into a single compact chassis. This unit is intended for broadcast studios, mobile production and live-event environments where reliability and integrated features are required.

Key capabilities include eight 12G-SDI inputs with built-in standards converters, twelve 12G-SDI program outputs, integrated H.264 streaming and internal recording. The switcher provides an advanced production toolset – ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers, a dedicated DVE, SuperSource multilayer processing and two downstream keys. A 58-channel Fairlight audio mixer and dedicated talkback make multi-camera productions easier to manage.

Performance specifications support UHD 4K at up to 60 fps and 10-bit 4:2:2 color processing for broadcast-grade imagery. Inputs include per-input standards conversion so mixed-format sources operate without manual conversion. The DVE and SuperSource engines support multi-layer compositing and picture-in-picture effects with customizable borders and shadows.

Connectivity is comprehensive – 8x 12G-SDI inputs, 12x 12G-SDI program outputs, HDMI 2.0 monitor output and a 16-way multiview output. The unit features MADI, analog audio I/O and camera return outputs that carry tally and talkback. USB-C webcam output emulates a standard webcam for compatibility with conferencing and streaming applications.

Typical applications include studio broadcasts, live sports, houses of worship, education and event staging where multi-camera switching and streaming are needed. The built-in streaming engine and H.264 recording simplify delivery to social platforms and cloud workflows. The multiview and tally features are useful for camera operators and technical directors during live productions.

Setup and operation are streamlined via the front-panel controls, ergonomic T-bar and joystick, or the free ATEM Software Control application over Ethernet.
