Description

The ATEM 4 M/E Constellation 4K is a professional broadcast switcher designed to handle large multi-camera live productions. It delivers high-quality UHD 4K60 switching over 12G-SDI and provides extensive multiview and talkback features for live workflows. The switcher integrates Fairlight audio mixing and a media pool for graphics and clips.

Key features include four M/E rows, 40 12G-SDI inputs, and 24 12G-SDI outputs along with USB-C program output for webcam resolutions. The system offers four independent DVEs plus SuperSource multilayer processing and 16 routable multiview windows per output. Upstream and downstream keyers, stinger and DVE effects, and 16 ATEM Advanced Keyers are available for complex live compositing.

Performance supports UHD 4K at up to 60 fps with 10-bit 4:2:2 color processing and internal frame sync and format conversion on every input. The built-in Fairlight audio mixer handles up to 156 channels and supports embedded SDI audio as well as analog and MADI connections. The media pool stores RGBA stills and animations and provides four media players that appear as additional switcher inputs.

Connectivity covers 40x BNC 12G-SDI inputs, 24x BNC 12G-SDI outputs plus USB-C program output, four SDI multiview outputs, reference BNC, RJ45 control, RJ12 and 5-pin XLR talkback and MADI audio ports. Each input includes frame synchronizers and format converters to mix camera formats and frame rates without genlock. Control is available via the front panel, ATEM Advanced Panels, or ATEM Software Control over Ethernet.

This switcher is ideal for broadcast studios, live events and houses of worship where multi-camera production and integrated audio are required. SuperSource and multiple DVEs allow picture-in-picture interviews and layered presentations while multiview outputs provide flexible monitoring options. Built-in talkback and SDI camera talkback support keep production crews coordinated during live events.

Rack-mountable in a 2U chassis, the unit features a compact front panel LCD for monitoring and on-screen menus and a high-efficiency thermal design for quiet operation. Dual IEC C14 power inputs provide redundancy and RS-422 plus MADI support add broadcast-grade interfacing.
