Description
The ADDERLink XDIP is an IP KVM extender and matrix solution designed to extend and manage computers across a standard Gigabit LAN. It provides low latency video and real-time control to deliver an at-the-PC user experience over IP. The unit supports flexible deployment as a point-to-point extender or a distributed matrix for video distribution and KVM switching.
XDIP units are configurable as transmitters or receivers to match site requirements and can be reconfigured as needs change. The platform supports matrix control via a RESTful API over HTTPS and integrates with third-party controllers. Power over Ethernet compatibility simplifies installation and supports redundant power options when used with suitable switches.
Video performance supports resolutions up to 1920×1200 at 60Hz with 60Hz compression to maintain smooth motion and low latency. The system passes EDID information intelligently or uses a fixed EDID if required. Each receiver can see up to 16 sources and each transmitter can connect to up to 256 receivers, enabling scalable AV distribution over IP.
Connectivity includes HDMI video, USB for keyboard/mouse and local feed-through, and bi-directional analog audio sampled at 16-bit 48kHz with headphone support. Standard network connectivity is via 1Gb/s Ethernet and the unit is compatible with most PoE switches for single-cable power and data. Local feed-through ports enable a console at the source and local computers at user stations.
The XDIP is suitable for control rooms, broadcast operators, digital signage distribution, and IT consolidation in small to medium businesses. It supports matrix switching, AV distribution and remote desktop control in a single platform. The REST API enables integration into professional workflows and automation using third-party control systems.
Installation is straightforward with zero configuration out of the box and a guided setup wizard for custom deployments. Units are supplied with standard HDMI, USB and audio cabling and can be powered by PoE or an external 12V supply depending on the model. The design focuses on reliability, simple management and compatibility with existing IP infrastructure.
