Description
The HD-RA35UX is a compact four-input mixer amplifier engineered for background music, paging and music-on-hold applications. It provides two Class D amplifier zones – a 35 watt main zone and a 4 watt secondary zone – and includes a worldwide 100-240 Vac to 24 Vdc power supply. The design focuses on audio clarity, efficient power use and seamless paging integration.
Key features include a front-panel paging input with level control, three VCA-controlled user inputs adjustable via optional remote controls, and bass and treble tone controls. The unit supports manual or automatic (VOX) priority ducking that attenuates secondary inputs during paging events. A compressor/limiter in the main output preserves dynamics while preventing clipping and improving average output levels.
Inputs 1 and 2 accept balanced mic or line sources with switch-selectable phantom 24 Vdc and rear-panel gain trimmers for precise gain staging. Inputs 3 and 4 use unbalanced RCA jacks summed to mono for stereo sources. Outputs include a detachable terminal block for the main speaker output, an 8 ohm secondary speaker output, a transformer-isolated 600 ohm MOH output and dual-mono RCA line outputs.
Connectivity covers detachable balanced terminal blocks, unbalanced RCA jacks, an RJ45 port for RDL remote VCA controls and an effects loop for external processing. Remote VCA control uses 0-10 Vdc over RJ45 allowing wall-mounted volume controls without running audio lines. The included external 24 Vdc power supply supports worldwide mains voltages and a rear terminal offers 24 Vdc power for optional RDL modules.
The HD-RA35UX is intended for small-to-medium installations requiring reliable background music, paging and hold music. Typical applications include retail shops, offices, medical suites, call centers and small hospitality zones where clear paging and automatic ducking are needed. The secondary zone supports music-on-hold or a small local speaker and the balanced line outputs feed additional amplification or recording devices.
Installation and operation emphasize energy efficiency and protection. An automatic sleep mode reduces standby power to under 1 W and the sleep delay is switch-selectable from 10 minutes to 2 hours or disabled for continuous operation. The unit includes soft-start switching, thermal protection and short-circuit protection and is engineered and manufactured in the U.S.A.
