Description
AJA’s Hi5-4K-Plus maintains the user’s visual experience with
seamless image fidelity and supports High-Frequency Range (HFR) up to
60p for 4K/UHD-SDI to HDMI 2.0 conversion. The Hi5-4K-Plus can also
generate HDR metadata, compatible with HDMI v2.0a/CTA-861.3. This
converter allows easy monitoring from professional 4K sources using Quad
1.5G-SDI, Quad 3G-SDI, or Dual 3G-SDI outputs to modern HDMI 2.0
monitors, providing an affordable solution for 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 60p
professional workflows.
Connectivity
Modern low-cost 4K monitors rely on HDMI 2.0 connections, allowing a
full 4K signal to be carried over a single cable. Professional 4K
workflows often require four SDI cables to deliver the complete
resolution, which complicates connecting to these displays. Hi5-4K-Plus
serves as a simple converter, bridging these two systems for seamless
integration.
Audio
The unit transfers up to 8 channels of embedded audio from the SDI input
to HDMI output, ensuring your audio remains perfectly synchronized and
easily played back on the connected monitor.
4K and UHD
4K signals typically have a resolution of 4096×2160 pixels, while UHD
signals use 3840×2160. This difference can limit the compatibility of
certain monitors in either full 4K or UHD workflows. Hi5-4K-Plus adjusts
for these differences, allowing UHD monitors to be used in 4K productions
and vice versa.
The device also supports High Frame Rate (HFR) inputs. 4K/UHD signals
at 50/60 fps can be input and output at up to 60p for viewing on HDMI
2.0-capable displays.
HDR
HDR enables a wider and richer range of colors, brighter whites, and
deeper blacks compared to traditional signals, providing a more
dynamic image and conveying true-to-life colors to your audience.
Hi5-4K-Plus supports 4K/UHD/HD HDR workflows to HDMI-compliant displays
by producing HDR metadata compatible with HDMI v2.0a/CTA-861.3.
HD Support
Hi5-4K-Plus can also convert HD-SDI to HDMI. A single HD-SDI input can
be output as an HD resolution HDMI signal, similar to AJA’s Hi5-3G
Mini-Converter.
Universal Power Supply
All AJA Mini-Converters include a universal power supply with
international plug options for worldwide use.
Compact and Ultra-slim
AJA Mini-Converters are compact enough to fit behind a rack, behind a
monitor, or on a camera rig. The locking power connector prevents
accidental disconnection, and an optional P-TAP cable allows battery
operation in remote locations.
