Description
The Gefen ToolBox 4×4 Matrix routes four UHD sources to four UHD displays with FST,
3DTV, and 4K x 2K Ultra-HD support. This lightweight product is a compact
alternative to rack-mounted matrixes. It supports routing of four UHD 4K or Full HD
1080p sources to four UHD displays. The unit supports resolutions up to 4K (3840 x
2160 @ 60Hz) as well as HDCP, Deep Color, 3DTV pass-through, and lossless audio
formats like LPCM 7.1, DTS-HD® Master Audio™ and Dolby® TrueHD. You can route each
HD source to any of the linked displays via the front panel push-button controls,
the IR remote, RS-232 control, or through IP via Telnet, UDP, and the built-in web
server interface. The LED indicators on the top panel show the current routing
status, audio configuration, FST mode, and EDID settings.
User Application
Typical uses of the Gefen ToolBox 4×4 Matrix includes retail establishments, sports
bars, schools, home theater systems, multi-room installations, hospitals, museums,
hotel lobbies, and any other installations where you can display UHD HDCP-compliant
AV content from up to four HDMI sources on four Ultra High Definition displays.
Fast Switching Technology
Fast Switching Technology (FST) is Gefen’s software implementation for HDMI
products. FST eliminates the long HDMI authentication process and allows you to
connect/disconnect or turn on/off HDTV displays without having these actions
influence other displays in the same distribution system.
How It Works
Connect up to four Ultra High Definition sources to the HDMI inputs on the matrix
via HDMI cables. Connect up to four Ultra High Definition displays to the HDMI
outputs. Connect the network to the RJ-45 connector via an Ethernet cable to use
the built-in web server or UDP/Telnet capability to control routing, EDID
management, and other operations. Connect an RS-232 cable between an automation
control unit like Gefen EXT-PACS or GTB-MINI-PACS and the matrix. Connect the added
locking power supply to the matrix and available electrical outlet. Also, power the
sources and display. You can now route the HD sources to the display via the front
panel push-button, IR remote control, RS-232, UDP, Telnet, or web server interface.
