Description
The wall mount programmable controller is a compact control interface designed to operate an 8 input 8 output matrix mixer. It provides quick source selection and volume control through a clear LCD display, one rotary encoder with push switch and four push buttons. The unit is intended to simplify day-to-day AV control while restricting end-user access to only required functions.
Key features include an easy-to-read LCD that shows selected source names and volume levels, an encoder that can be assigned to multiple functions and four assignable push buttons. Two source switching modes are supported – direct selection of up to four sources or a custom on-screen source list up to eight entries. The controller supports automatic backlight off to reduce power draw and distraction.
Technical details include RS-485 control connectivity via RJ-45 connectors and compatibility with Cat5e or higher cabling. The controller draws power from the matrix mixer via RS-485, eliminating a separate power supply and reducing installation complexity. Daisy chaining of up to eight units is supported with a maximum cable run of 200 m.
Connectivity includes two RJ-45 RS-485 connectors for control and daisy chaining and Cat5e or better cable requirements. Compatibility notes include panel-size options that match common US/Japan and European switch-box footprints. Firmware and software updates are required for full functionality – the matrix mixer firmware must be V1.10 or later and the control software must be V1.2.0 or later.
Typical applications include meeting rooms, lecture halls, retail environments and restaurants where limited, repeatable control of audio sources and levels is required. The controller is optimized for fixed installations where a tamper-resistant, wall-mounted control surface is preferred. Its compact footprint and familiar control layout reduce training and enable consistent operation by non-technical users.
Installation and configuration are straightforward – the unit mounts in standard electrical boxes and receives power via the matrix mixer RS-485 connection, lowering installation cost and complexity. Configuration is performed using the companion software to assign encoder and button functions and to set source names. The IP-free RS-485 control and rugged mechanical controls provide a reliable interface suitable for daily operation.
