Description
The Model 2400 is a 22-channel analog mixing console that combines live mixing, multitrack recording and USB audio interfacing – all in a single unit. It records up to 24 tracks directly to SDXC media in WAV(BWF) format at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz and supports 16- and 24-bit quantization. This makes the unit a complete solution for sessions where both desk control and standalone multitrack capture are required.
The console provides 22 analog channel modules including 16 XLR mic preamps that use TASCAM ultra HDDA circuitry and one-knob compressors on channels 1-12. It offers five aux sends, four stereo subgroups, master stereo bus processing and a dedicated built-in effects section with reverb, delay, chorus and more. Insert points on channels 1-12 plus a main send/return loop let you integrate outboard gear into tracking and mastering chains.
Recorder and audio performance are designed to meet professional needs – WAV(BWF) file format, SDXC support up to 512 GB, and USB Audio Class 2.0 operation at 24-bit/44.1 or 48 kHz. The analog audio chain delivers 20 Hz to 30 kHz frequency response from mic in to main out and low residual noise figures suitable for critical tracking. Per-channel EQ, master digital EQ and a master compressor provide detailed tonal and dynamic control.
Connectivity covers XLR/TRS combo mic/line inputs, TRS insert jacks, instrument inputs on channels 1-2, balanced XLR main outputs, pseudo-balanced TRS control room and aux outputs, sub outputs and two headphone outputs. USB Type-B supports mass storage and 24-in/22-out USB audio streaming for DAW integration. MIDI I/O, footswitch and a click output provide synchronization and hands-free control for live and studio workflows.
Typical use cases include multitrack studio recording without a computer, FOH mixing for medium ensembles, and rehearsal or remote capture where immediate multitrack files are required. The device handles complex monitor mixes through five aux sends and multiple subgroups while recording all channels to card or streaming to a DAW. Its onboard processing reduces the need for external racks during tracking and mixing.
Designed for reliable daily use, the Model 2400 features rack-friendly dimensions, a robust chassis and easy-to-access controls. SD card recording simplifies session management and reduces system complexity during live events. The included Settings Panel application provides remote meter bridge and transport control for streamlined setup and monitoring.
