Description
The DR-10L Pro is an ultra-compact 32-bit float field recorder designed to capture clean, distortion-free audio across a massive dynamic range. It combines high-resolution recording with a stealthy form factor that fits in the palm of your hand. The recorder supports WAV (BWF) and MP3 formats, enabling flexible delivery options for production workflows.
Key features include 32-bit float recording and dual ADC architecture that remove the need for manual gain adjustments. The unit offers LTC jam sync via a top-mounted 3.5mm stereo mini connection and supports wireless timecode with compatible Atomos devices. An onboard headphone output and USB Type-C connectivity make monitoring and file transfer straightforward.
Technical performance is optimized for field use – the DR-10L Pro captures WAV at 44.1k/48kHz in 16/24-bit and 32-bit float, and MP3 at 44.1k/48kHz. Measured audio performance includes a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response, THD+N of 0.01% at 1kHz, and a dynamic range of 105dB or higher. Storage supports microSDXC cards up to 512GB and files are saved frequently to minimize data loss during power interruptions.
Connectivity covers essential production interfaces – a lockable 3.5mm analog input jack, a 3.5mm stereo headphone output, USB Type-C mass storage, and a Bluetooth adapter port for optional wireless control. The recorder is compatible with the TASCAM RECORDER CONNECT app for iOS and Android, allowing remote control of up to five units and device naming to simplify multi-mic shoots.
Use cases include run-and-gun film and documentary shoots, wedding and event coverage, ENG and broadcast production, and location sound for theatre. The device’s 32-bit float architecture ensures dialog and loud transient sources are captured reliably without clipping. Its small footprint and secure belt-clip mounting support unobtrusive placement on talent and subjects.
Setup and daily use are straightforward – the DR-10L Pro runs up to 24.5 hours on two AAA lithium batteries and writes files incrementally to reduce risk of loss. The housing is lightweight yet stable for wearable use, and plug-in power is provided at 2.3V for lavalier compatibility. Firmware updates and app-based control simplify integration into existing workflows.
