Description
The WP-572 is an HDMI wall-plate receiver that restores HDMI signals sent over a single twisted pair cable using Kramer DGKat technology. It accepts a DGKat twisted pair input and outputs a full HDMI signal to local displays. The unit supports HDCP and modern HDMI audio formats for reliable integration with source equipment.
The receiver supports a maximum data rate of 4.95Gbps – 1.65Gbps per graphics channel – and passes EDID information transparently between source and sink. It supports x.v.Color and up to 7.1 channels of uncompressed audio, plus 3D pass-through where supported by source and display. The PoC Power Connect system allows the transmitter to power the receiver over the link for simplified installation.
Performance metrics include transmission ranges up to 90m/295ft at 1080i@60Hz and up to 70m/230ft at 1080p@60Hz when using Kramer DGKat cables. The unit is HDTV compatible and HDCP compliant. ON LED status reporting indicates power only, input/output presence, and active link conditions with red/orange/green colors.
Connectivity is provided via one DGKat twisted pair RJ-45 input and one HDMI output. The receiver requires shielded twisted pair cabling – if third-party shielded CAT cables are used, both ends of the shield must be soldered to the connectors. The included power supply supports the device when not powered via PoC from a transmitter.
Typical installation scenarios include boardrooms, conference and training rooms, presentation systems and small home theater setups where wall-plate mounting is required. The compact 1-gang US wall-plate form factor integrates into standard wall boxes and delivers a finished look while keeping AV cabling concealed behind the wall.
