Description

The WP-572 is a wall plate HDMI receiver that restores HDMI signals transmitted over a single shielded twisted pair cable – it receives DGKat twisted pair signals and converts them back to HDMI. It is designed to operate as the receiver half of a long-reach PoC DGKat HDMI extender pair. The unit is compact and fits a single US 1-gang wall plate for clean wall-mounted AV installations.

The receiver supports HDCP 2.2 and a maximum data rate of 4.95Gbps (1.65Gbps per graphics channel) for reliable delivery of standard HDTV signals. It passes EDID information transparently between source and display and supports x.v.Color and up to 7.1 channels of uncompressed audio. The design also allows 3D pass-through and preserves HDMI control and communication signals using Kramer DGKat signal integration.

Performance specifications include effective ranges of up to 90m/295ft at 1080i@60Hz and up to 70m/230ft at 1080p@60Hz when using Kramer DGKat cables. The system bandwidth is 4.95Gbps with 1.65Gbps per graphics channel, and HDCP compliance ensures protected content playback. Transmission distance and behavior depend on source resolution, graphics adapter, and display characteristics.

Connectivity on the WP-572 includes one DGKat twisted pair RJ-45 input and one HDMI output connector. The unit requires shielded twisted pair cable and if third-party shielded CAT cable is used, both ends of the shield must be soldered to the connectors for correct operation. The Power Connect system lets the transmitter supply power to the receiver, eliminating the need for a separate receiver power source in many installations.

Typical applications include boardrooms, conference and training rooms, presentation systems, and home theater signal distribution. The WP-572 is suited to fixed installations where a low-profile wall plate receiver is required to extend HDMI signals over long distances.
