Description
The F676-OUT2-F16 is an HDMI fiber optic output card designed to extend HDMI and control signals over long distances. It converts HDMI and RS-232 source signals to optical for transmission to compatible fiber receivers. The card supports ultra-reach extension over multi-mode or single-mode fiber.
This output card supports up to 4096×2160 at 60Hz using 4:2:0 chroma and handles up to 10.2 Gbps aggregated bandwidth. It is HDCP 2.2 compliant and supports LPCM 7.1, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD audio formats. The unit includes I-EDIDPro intelligent EDID processing to maintain plug-and-play interoperability between sources and displays.
The module ships with a multi-mode SFP+ transceiver installed but accepts Kramer certified SFP+ units to match infrastructure needs. Over OM3 multi-mode fiber the card reaches up to 3 km and with OS1 single-mode fiber it supports distances up to 33 km. Near-zero latency chroma sub-sampling conversion is used to adapt signals above a 10 Gbps optical link rate.
Control extension is supported via bidirectional RS-232 on a 3-pin terminal block, enabling remote device control over the same optical link. Optical link LEDs provide straightforward local diagnostics for maintenance and troubleshooting. The card supports optical splitting for multi-drop distribution without additional AV amplifiers.
Applications include ultra-long, secure AV extension for governmental and medical facilities, point-to-multipoint optical distribution in large venues, and multi-room or inter-building AV connectivity. The module is engineered for integration into modular matrices and large optical distribution systems. Its compliance certifications and laser safety class make it suitable for installation in commercial AV systems.
Installation is simplified by the hot-swappable SFP+ module form factor and standard LC fiber connectors. The card draws 9 W and operates between 0 to 40 C ambient temperature. Its compact form factor fits Kramer VS-1616DN-EM modular matrix slots and is intended for professional AV rack environments where long-distance HDMI extension and robust control are required.
