Description

The CLS-AOCU/CH-33 is an active optical USB-C to HDMI cable designed to carry 4K video signals over long distances while preserving signal integrity. It converts USB-C output to HDMI input using active optical technology – enabling extended runs without the attenuation common to copper-based cables. The cable is built with a low smoke halogen free (LSHF) jacket and thin construction for easier routing in professional AV installations.

This cable supports up to 4K@60Hz video at 4:4:4 color sampling and an 18Gbps data rate, ensuring high fidelity video transmission. It provides transparent EDID handling and HDCP 2.2 support to maintain content protection requirements. Audio formats supported include PCM up to 8 channels, DTS HD 7.1 and Dolby TrueHD, allowing lossless multichannel audio transport alongside video.

Physically the cable uses a hybrid construction with four polymer insulated glass fibers plus tinned copper conductors for power and control lines. Connectors are 24K gold-plated to minimize corrosion and maintain reliable electrical contact. The cable diameter is approximately 4.7mm and it offers a 20mm bending radius to accommodate tight routing while reducing stress on the optical fibers.

Connectivity is straightforward: a USB-C male source connector to an HDMI Type A male display connector. The product supports HDR metadata, EDID pass-through and both HDCP 2.2 and 1.4, making it compatible with modern 4K sources and displays that enforce content protection. No external power supply is required as the cable consumes under 1.5W.

Typical applications include long-run laptop to display connections in conference rooms, digital signage installations that require 4K content over extended distances, and connections in broadcast or presentation environments where EMI and RFI immunity is important. The thin LSHF jacket and flexible construction simplify installation in cable trays, conduits and behind furniture or displays.
