Description

The EX-70-H2C is an HDMI extender set designed to extend HDMI video and control signals over a single Cat6/6a cable up to 70m / 230ft. It transmits full 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 video and supports HDMI 2.0 with an 18Gbps data rate to preserve HDR and high-frame-rate content. The system includes local HDMI loop-out, IR passthrough, and audio return functionality – all in a compact steel chassis.

The extender supports bi-directional PoC to power either the TX or RX unit from a single supply, reducing cabling and simplifying installations. Bi-directional IR pass-through enables remote control of the source from the display location and control of the display from the source location. EDID management options on the TX provide fixed resolution choices or EDID copy to ensure display compatibility.

Video performance includes HDMI 2.0 signal support, 18Gbps bandwidth, and a 600MHz pixel clock to handle VESA and SMPTE resolutions up to 3840×2160@60Hz 4:4:4 and multiple high-refresh 1080p modes. Audio formats supported over HDMI include PCM up to 7.1, Dolby variants, DTS variants, and S/PDIF de-embedded output for downstream audio systems. ARC selection on the RX enables TV audio return or de-embedding to S/PDIF.

Connectivity includes a single HDMI input and loop-out on the TX, an HDMI output on the RX, an S/PDIF de-embed port, IR emitter and receiver ports, and a network-style RJ45 link over Cat5e/6/6a/7. The extender supports up to 70m / 230ft over Cat6/6a/7 and 50m / 164ft over Cat5e for 4K@60Hz transmission scenarios. Firmware updates are available via Micro USB ports on both units.
