Description

The OG-12G-AMA is an openGear 8-channel analog audio embedder and disembedder that supports 12G-SDI up to 4K/UltraHD. It automatically detects the incoming SDI video standard and configures itself to match frame rate and format. The card is designed to fit high-density openGear 2RU frames for broadcast and pro AV installations.

This card provides selectable analog audio levels and channel-pair embedding or disembedding to pass embedded audio or insert analog sources. Each of the four analog pairs can be configured as inputs or outputs via 3-pin terminal block connectors. The module supports balanced analog I/O and 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion for accurate audio integration.

OG-12G-AMA supports single-link SD/HD/2K/UltraHD/4K over SMPTE 259/292/424/2081/2082 and handles single-link 3G-SDI Level A and Level B formats. Video out is a delayed, reclocked version of video in, and latency is low across supported link rates. Embedded audio follows SMPTE 272M for SD and SMPTE 299M for HD/3G/6G/12G at 48 kHz synchronous operation.

Connectivity includes 1x 12G-SDI input and 1x 12G-SDI output on BNC plus eight balanced analog channels on four configurable pairs via 3-pin terminal blocks. The card is compatible with OG-X-FR, OG-3-FR and DFR-8321 openGear frames and can be monitored and controlled via Ross DashBoard on Windows, macOS and Linux. Optional per-card Ethernet or frame-level Ethernet enables remote configuration and monitoring.

Typical applications include studio insert/replace audio workflows, live event mixing where analog talent feeds must be embedded into SDI, and postproduction workflows that require analog I/O to be combined with 4K video sources. The card can disembed embedded audio for downstream mixing and then re-embed the mixed analog output back into the SDI stream. It is suitable for broadcast trucks, control rooms and playout racks.

Installation into openGear frames is straightforward and requires two adjacent slots per card. Ross DashBoard provides a simple UI for configuring audio levels, channel routing and monitoring status over LAN.
