Description

The IPR-10G2-SDI is a compact Mini-Converter that receives SMPTE ST 2110 video and audio over 10 GigE and outputs baseband 3G-SDI for monitoring and downstream distribution. It extracts, synchronizes, and embeds associated audio into mirrored SDI outputs while also providing analog RCA stereo outputs. The unit supports up to HD 60p and includes hitless switching redundancy for critical paths.

Key features include dual SFP+ 10 GigE inputs for SMPTE ST 2110 streams and ST 2022-7 dual-stream hitless switching. The converter provides dual mirrored 3G-SDI BNC outputs with embedded up to 8-channel SDI audio and concurrent 2x RCA analog audio outputs. AJA’s full 10-bit pixel pipeline preserves video quality up to 2K 60p 4:2:2.

Performance supports a wide range of video formats including 2K 2048x1080p and HD 1920x1080p up to 60 fps, plus interlaced standards and 720p/SD formats. Audio over IP supports up to 16 channels at 24-bit 48 kHz synchronous operation and selectable packet intervals. PTP timing is supported per IEEE 1588 and SMPTE ST 2059-1 while frame sync and concealment handle packet loss gracefully.

Connectivity includes 2x SFP+ cages for media, a 1 GbE control port, mini-USB for initial setup, and a BNC reference input for analog/tri-level reference locking. Control options include a browser-based web UI, AJA eMini-Setup via USB, NMOS IS-04/IS-05, Ember+ control, and AJA REST API for automation. Recommended SFP+ modules include 10GBASE-SR and single-mode 1310nm options.

Typical applications include point-of-use monitoring, converting IP feeds to SDI for master control rooms, OB trucks, and edit suites, and enabling SDI monitoring where routers remain in place during IP transition. The mirrored outputs allow simultaneous display and ingest paths while RCA outputs provide quick stereo monitoring. The unit’s silent, fanless design supports placement behind displays or in compact installations.

Installation is simplified by a rugged, small-footprint chassis, locking power connector, and an included universal power supply supporting 5-20 VDC. Web and REST control make network configuration and remote management straightforward, and USB eMini-Setup provides local configuration.
