The HIGHlite Reference 4K UHD System is a modular projection solution that separates a compact projector head from a remote modular laser light source. It delivers native 4K-UHD (3840 x 2160) imaging using an RGB laser illumination engine and supports HD resolutions for legacy content. The design addresses installations where weight, noise and service access are critical factors.

Key features include a lightweight sealed projection head, a rack-mounted Modular Light Source (MLS), and a Satellite Control Module (SCM) linked by fiber optic cable. The system supports near BT2020 colour gamut reproduction and long-life RGB laser illumination rated for over 20,000 hours. Lens options include multiple motorised zoom lenses with intelligent lens memory for preset positions.

Performance specifications include support for 3840 x 2160p at common cinematic and broadcast frame rates and 1080p/WUXGA up to 120 Hz display within 1920 x 1080. Colour temperature is user-selectable from 3300K to 10000K and the illumination type is RGB laser. Typical power consumption figures are 156W for the head and 1000W for a single MLS, and the system carries UL, UKCA, CE and FCC Class A certifications.

Connectivity and control are implemented via the Satellite Link fiber optic interconnect, an IR remote and on-board keypad with OSD, plus LAN automation control. The MLS and SCM are rack-mountable 19 inch 3U units to integrate into AV racks and machine rooms. The fiber link enables head placement up to 100m from the MLS, improving installation flexibility where access is limited.

Applications include planetariums, simulation environments, immersive domes and large fixed-install venues where high native resolution and wide colour gamut are required. The modular approach allows a single MLS to serve multiple heads for multi-channel arrays, reducing system footprint and maintenance points. The compact head simplifies rigging and service compared with integrated projectors of much higher mass.

Installation and serviceability are simplified by a low-weight head design, sealed optics and near maintenance-free interconnections.
