Description

The Eris Studio 5 is a 5.25-inch two-way active studio monitor engineered to deliver accurate, natural sound reproduction for home studios and small mix rooms. It combines a woven-composite low-frequency driver and a 1-inch silk-dome tweeter to preserve transient detail and tonal balance. The enclosure and EBM waveguide work together to produce a broad horizontal sweet spot and reduced desk reflections.

Key features include an EBM elliptical boundary modeled waveguide that yields wide 120deg horizontal dispersion and narrow vertical dispersion for improved imaging. The system employs 80 watts of biamped Class AB amplification split between dedicated LF and HF sections. Front-firing porting and optimized internal bracing extend low-frequency output to 48 Hz while controlling resonance.

Technical specifications include a 3.5 kHz crossover, a frequency response of 48 Hz to 20 kHz, and a measured peak SPL of 102 dB at one meter. Acoustic tuning controls provide Acoustic Space options and continuously variable high and mid frequency adjustments centered at 10 kHz and 1 kHz respectively. A selectable low-cut filter offers Flat, 80 Hz, or 100 Hz @ -12 dB/octave settings for close-desk placement.

Connectivity is flexible with balanced XLR and 1/4-inch TRS inputs plus unbalanced RCA inputs for consumer gear. The monitor includes protection features such as RF interference suppression, output-current limiting, over-temperature protection, turn-on/off transient control, and a subsonic filter. A power saver mode engages after 40 minutes of inactivity to reduce power consumption.

Typical applications include critical nearfield mixing, tracking reference monitoring, and content creation where accurate translation is required. The broad dispersion and tunable HF/Mid controls make the monitors suitable for shared or asymmetrical workspaces where seating positions vary. The extended bass response reduces reliance on a subwoofer for many small-room scenarios.

Installation and day-to-day use are straightforward thanks to a compact, vinyl-laminated MDF cabinet and intuitive rear-panel controls. Mounting options include speaker stands or desktop placement using isolation pads; front porting eases positioning near walls or desks.
