Description

The Hollyland Pyro 7 and Pyro 5 Wireless Transceiver Monitor Kit is a pair of on-camera transceiver monitors designed to transmit and receive live video with low latency and integrated monitoring. Each unit functions as either a transmitter or a receiver and supports SDI and HDMI video I/O for common professional camera workflows. The monitors also record to SD card and support RTMP streaming for direct streaming to popular platforms.

Both monitors provide long-range dual-band wireless transmission across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands using Auto Dual-Band Hopping and Auto Frequency Hopping to reduce interference. The Pyro 7 features a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 touchscreen at up to 1200 cd/m2 brightness and dual L-series battery support, while the Pyro 5 provides a 5.5-inch touchscreen at up to 1500 cd/m2 brightness and an L-series battery plate. Each transceiver supports Broadcast mode where one transmitter can send to up to four receivers, and standard mode supporting two receivers plus two mobile devices.

Performance highlights include line-of-sight ranges up to approximately 1300 ft depending on model and environment, transmission latency down to 60 ms, and selectable HD mode delivering up to 12 Mb/s for higher image quality or Smooth mode for lower latency at longer distances. Onboard imaging tools include waveform, focus assist, and LUT support for consistent monitoring and a streamlined on-set workflow. SD card recording supports MP4 files and proxy recording for review and editing.

Connectivity includes HDMI and 3G-SDI inputs and loop outputs on the Pyro 7 and HDMI input and loop output on the Pyro 5 when in transmitter mode, and HDMI/SDI outputs when in receiver mode. Both units include RP-SMA antenna connectors, a USB-C port for firmware, a headphone output, and a barrel power input supporting 10 to 18 VDC. The units support embedded HDMI/SDI audio up to 8 channels and proxy audio options for production use.

The kit suits ENG, remote production, run-and-gun cinematography, live streaming, and multicamera workflows where untethered monitoring and flexible routing are required. It enables quick source switching across a group preset, dual-view monitoring using customizable shortcut keys, and RTMP streaming integration for conferences and live events. The Pyro series also supports mobile control via the HollyView app for Android and iOS for remote monitoring and setup.

Both monitors are built with a magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis for reduced weight and improved heat dissipation. The Pyro 7 uses dual L-series battery plates for extended runtime while the Pyro 5 uses a single L-series plate and supports proxy recording to SD or USB. Setup is straightforward using touchscreen controls, grouping presets, and automatic channel selection, making them suitable for fast-paced production environments where reliability and rapid deployment are essential.
