Description
The GF-HDK18G-VIP-TX is a 4K HDMI and USB-C KVM over IP sender designed to transport video, audio, and control signals across a Gigabit LAN. It delivers 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 video with HDR support to maintain image fidelity across long distances. The unit also carries USB, RS-232, and bi-directional IR for full remote control of sources.
This sender supports HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision for improved contrast and color volume. Independent routing of video, audio, RS-232, IR and USB creates a virtual matrix environment. A built-in video wall controller enables layouts up to 16×16 for large-scale displays.
Performance is engineered for professional AV and KVM use with AES-256 encryption for secure content distribution. The sender supports HDCP 2.3/2.2/1.4 and deep color handling to preserve source compatibility. Maximum resolution handling is 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 to support demanding graphics and media applications.
Connectivity includes HDMI and USB-C inputs and a local loop-through HDMI output on the sender. Network connections use dual shielded RJ-45 ports and the system supports PoE IEEE 802.3at to eliminate external power in many installations. USB 2.0 hosts and device ports extend peripherals over the network at up to 480 Mbps.
Installation requires a managed Gigabit switch with Jumbo Frame support (8k or greater) and IGMP Snooping enabled to ensure stable multicast distribution. Shielded CAT-5e or better cables are supported up to 330 ft (100 meters) between a unit and the switch. A dedicated LAN is recommended for large deployments to maintain predictable latency and bandwidth.
Gefen Syner-G software and the Gefen Matrix Controller (GF-AVIP-MC) are recommended for system configuration and monitoring. The compact metal enclosure and locking power connector support rack or shelf mounting in pro AV racks.
