Description

The OG-3G-AMA is a compact openGear card that embeds and disembeds analog audio into 3G-SDI signals. It accepts 3G-SDI video up to 1080p60 and automatically configures to the incoming video standard. The card maps analog pairs to SDI embedded channels on a per-pair basis to match facility routing requirements.

Audio I/O is provided via eight 3-pin terminal block connectors, each pair configurable as either inputs or outputs. Analog levels are selectable through DashBoard so 0 dBfs can be set to professional or consumer reference levels. Incoming embedded audio can be passed, removed, or overridden by analog inputs to provide flexible signal management.

Video support covers SD, HD and 2K formats including 3G-SDI Level A and Level B at supported frame rates up to 60fps. The unit reclocks and delays video minimally with measured latencies dependent on SDI level. Audio conversion uses 24-bit converters and supports synchronous 48 kHz embedded audio per SMPTE standards.

Control and monitoring are available via Ross DashBoard software on Windows, macOS and Linux or via an external DIP switch on the card. The openGear architecture allows installation into high-density frames such as OG-X-FR, OG-3-FR and DFR-8321 and supports optional per-card Ethernet for advanced communication. A redundant frame power supply option provides added reliability.

Typical applications include live production racks, OB vans, broadcast facilities and post workflows where analog lines need to be merged into SDI or recovered from SDI. The OG-3G-AMA is suitable for embedding microphone feeds, line-level sources or routing program audio into multichannel SDI streams. It also serves as a cost-effective way to extract analog outputs from embedded sources.

Installation is straightforward in any compatible openGear frame and the unit occupies two slots in the frame. DashBoard provides remote configuration and monitoring across the network, while the hardware DIP switch offers quick local settings. The card is backed by a five year warranty and AJA support for professional deployments.
