Description
The 12GDA is a compact 1×6 12G-SDI reclocking distribution amplifier designed to replicate a recovered SDI input across six buffered outputs. It supports single-link 4K/UltraHD via 12G-SDI and is format agnostic for broad compatibility. The unit provides automatic input detection, reclocking and cable equalization to maintain signal integrity across long coax runs.
Key features include six separately buffered SDI outputs that mirror the recovered input precisely and automatic input sensing across SD/HD/3G/6G/12G rates. The device performs reclocking on standard SDI rates and applies cable equalization tailored to Belden 1694A coax for extended distances. Additional features include LED signal detection indication, a throw down package and a universal power supply included in the box.
Technical performance covers video formats from 100 Mbps up to 12 Gbps and supports SMPTE-259/292/424/2081/2082 signaling. Cable equalization provides approximate reach of 70m at 12 Gbps, 120m at 6 Gbps, 190m at 3 Gbps, 195m at 1.5 Gbps and 405m at 270 Mbps over Belden 1694A. Reclocking is applied to common SDI rates including 270 Mbps through 11.88 Gbps on auto select and other rates are passed through without reclocking.
Connectivity is straightforward with one 12G-SDI BNC input and six 12G-SDI BNC outputs, passing all ancillary data and metadata transparently. The unit accepts a wide voltage range +5-20 VDC regulated input and includes a universal AC adapter with 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz input. A locking power connector reduces accidental disconnection and an optional P-TAP cable can be used for battery power in the field.
Typical applications include camera feeds to on-set monitoring, distribution to edit suites, signal splitting for live production and feed distribution for masters or recorders. The 12GDA is well suited to broadcast trucks, OB vans and compact studio racks where space is limited but high bandwidth is required. It supports single-cable 4K workflows and simplifies cabling by reducing the number of runs needed for high data-rate signals.
Installation is quick thanks to the miniature footprint and simple BNC connectivity that fits behind monitors or inside rack spaces. The unit is ruggedly built for pro AV environments and operates across a 0 to 40 degrees C range with wide humidity tolerance.
