Description

The IPT-10G2-SDI is a compact IP transmitter that bridges 3G-SDI baseband sources into SMPTE ST 2110 networks. It accepts a single 3G-SDI input carrying baseband video and embedded audio and encapsulates the essence for transmission over 10 GigE. This unit is purpose-built to connect traditional SDI cameras, routers and decks into IP contribution and distribution systems.

Key capabilities include 10-bit 4:2:2 uncompressed video processing and embedded audio handling. The module extracts embedded audio channels and maps them into ST 2110 audio streams, or accepts stereo analog audio via dual RCA inputs. Redundancy is provided by two 10 GigE SFP+ cages enabling ST 2022-7 hitless switching for uninterrupted contribution and delivery.

Performance supports up to 1080p60 at 4:2:2 10-bit YCbCr with full 10-bit pixel processing. The IPT-10G2-SDI includes frame sync to retime sources not locked to PTP and a Reference Out BNC to provide a PTP-locked sync to baseband devices. Audio handling covers embedded SDI channels from the input and up to 16 channels over IP streams while maintaining 24-bit depth at 48 kHz.

Connectivity options include dual SFP+ cages for media, a 1 GbE RJ-45 control port, and a USB mini-B port for initial configuration via AJA eMini-Setup. Control and integration support NMOS IS-04/IS-05, Ember+, LLDP and an AJA REST API for customizable control. Web browser setup is available via the built-in web server for easy configuration on standard management networks.

Typical applications include studio-to-IP contribution, remote truck and field acquisition, and bridging legacy SDI sources into IP routing and processing systems. The IPT-10G2-SDI is suitable for critical workflows that require minimal latency and resilient transport using ST 2022-7. It is also useful where limited rack space or on-camera placement is required due to its compact footprint.

The unit is built with a quiet fanless design and a locking power connector for reliable operation in studio and field environments. A universal power supply is included and an optional P-TAP cable allows battery operation. AJA provides a five year warranty for long-term deployment assurance and firmware updates are available to keep systems current.
