Description
T-TAP Pro is a compact Thunderbolt monitor output device engineered to provide professional 4K/UHD and HD monitoring from a Thunderbolt 3 host and is compatible with Thunderbolt 4/5 systems. It outputs video over both 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 simultaneously, enabling connection to professional SDI monitors and consumer HDMI displays at the same time. The device supports 10-bit and 12-bit output and HDR signaling to maintain accurate color and luminance for critical monitoring tasks.
Key features include 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 outputs capable of single-cable 4K/UHD 60p, RGB 4:4:4 12-bit and YCbCr 4:2:2 10-bit workflows, and embedded audio support for up to 16 channels on SDI and eight on HDMI. T-TAP Pro supports HDR formats including PQ, HLG, and HDR10 with VPID signaling over SDI and HDR Infoframe support over HDMI. The front panel provides audio level reference meters and a 3.5mm headphone jack for immediate monitoring control.
Performance covers a wide range of professional video formats including 4096×2160 and 3840×2160 up to 60p, multiple 2K and HD frame rates, and SD support. Bit-depth support is application dependent, enabling 12-bit RGB or 10-bit YCbCr output depending on source and software. The unit consumes up to 18W and operates in standard studio environments between 0 and 35 C with noncondensing humidity tolerances.
Connectivity is provided via a single Thunderbolt 3 port that is compatible with Thunderbolt 4 and 5 hosts, a 12G-SDI BNC output with 16-channel embedded audio, and an HDMI 2.0 output with eight-channel embedded audio. Both SDI and HDMI outputs remain active concurrently to support mixed monitoring setups. Apple silicon is supported via AJA Desktop Software and the device is compatible with common production applications including Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Avid, OBS Studio, and Telestream Wirecast.
T-TAP Pro is suitable for a variety of production scenarios including on-set monitoring, editing bays, remote workflows, and live event monitoring. Its silent, compact form factor makes it practical for mobile and desktop use where quiet operation and small footprint are required. The device handles HDR metadata auto-detection and VPID signaling to simplify HDR playback and monitoring chains when used with supported software.
Installation and operation are straightforward – connect the Thunderbolt cable to a supported host, attach SDI or HDMI monitors, and configure output using AJA Control Panel or compatible application plug-ins. Firmware and driver updates are provided via AJA Desktop Software to ensure ongoing compatibility and improvements. With included power supply and a three year warranty, T-TAP Pro offers a compact reliable solution for professional monitoring needs.
