Description
The ROI-DP-R0 is a compact DisplayPort to SDI scan converter designed to convert computer DisplayPort outputs to baseband SDI video with high-quality scaling and flexible format options. It accepts DP resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz and outputs SD, HD and 3G-SDI formats. The unit is purpose-built to integrate computer sources into SDI production workflows while remaining small and portable.
Key features include DisplayPort to 3G-SDI conversion with DP loop through, EDID emulation, region of interest (ROI) scaling, aspect ratio and frame rate conversion, and image rotation and flip. The device supports up, down and cross-conversion and can convert between deinterlaced and progressive signals. Loss of input management options include black, freeze, or mute to maintain clean downstream video behavior.
Performance specifications cover a wide set of output formats including 1080p, 1080i, 720p, and standard definition mappings with 4:2:2 10-bit YCbCr at supported rates. The DP receiver supports a maximum pixel clock that limits some frame rates to the DP receiver’s 166 MHz maximum. The converter embeds audio from DP or a 3.5mm balanced analog input and supports 2-channel or 8-channel embedded audio as required.
Connectivity is straightforward with one DisplayPort input, a DisplayPort pass-through for local monitoring, and a single 3G-SDI BNC output. A reference input allows genlock using tri-level or bi-level sync while the device can also free run when reference is not present. Configuration is handled via USB using AJA Mini-Config software for Mac and Windows systems.
The ROI-DP-R0 is suitable for live production, postproduction, corporate AV, and install scenarios where computer content needs to be placed onto an SDI signal path. Typical uses include extracting specific screen regions for broadcast, embedding computer audio into SDI feeds, and converting diverse desktop resolutions to standardized video formats for playout. Its small footprint makes placement behind displays, in racks, or on camera rigs practical.
Installation and operation are designed to be simple and reliable. The unit includes a universal power supply supporting 100-240V AC and accepts 5-20V DC regulated input for battery or P-TAP use. A five year warranty backs the hardware and the compact metal enclosure and locking power connector provide secure use in professional environments.
