Description

The Hi5-12G-R0 converts professional 12G-SDI video sources to HDMI 2.0b outputs while preserving image fidelity and supporting high frame rates up to 4K60p. It is a compact signal interface designed to deliver single-cable HDMI monitoring from 4K 12G-SDI devices to modern HDMI 2.0 displays. The unit generates HDMI HDR metadata and supports CTA-861-G signaling for consistent HDR delivery to compatible displays.

Key capabilities include support for 4:4:4, 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 color sampling, 8/10/12-bit color depth, and embedded audio pass-through including AC-3 and E-AC-3 formats. The Hi5-12G-R0 supports 12-bit workflows and can handle high frame rate 4K/UltraHD signals up to 60p. It also provides a reclocked 12G-SDI loop out for monitoring or downstream SDI routing.

Performance specifications cover a broad set of raster formats and frame rates including 4096×2160, 3840×2160, 2048×1080, 1920×1080, and standard definition signals. HDMI output is HDMI v2.0b capable with HDR infoframe generation, colorimetry override, and bits-per-pixel options up to 36 BPP depending on format. The device supports embedded audio up to 24-bit and can buffer up to 100 frames of audio delay.

Connectivity includes a 12G-SDI BNC input and a reclocked 12G-SDI loop output plus an HDMI Type A output. Models in the Hi5-12G family offer fiber SFP options; the R variant accepts optical input via LC for long-distance 4K reception and supports automatic source switch over for SDI and optical inputs. Configuration and status are available via a USB port and the supplied Mini-Config application for Mac and Windows.

The Hi5-12G-R0 is suited to monitoring, color grading, live production, and playout where direct HDMI display connection is required from 12G-SDI sources. It is commonly used in OB vans, broadcast studios, grading suites, and rental houses to provide cost-effective HDMI monitoring while retaining professional SDI signal integrity.
