The ATEN CE840 is an HDBaseT 3.0 USB True 4K HDMI KVM extender that transmits uncompressed video and control signals over a single Cat 6A cable. It delivers True 4K HDMI up to 100m and supports HDR10+ for accurate image reproduction. The system comprises a local unit and a remote unit to enable local and remote console operation.
Key features include HDBaseT 3.0 transport for HDMI audio RS232 Ethernet and USB over one cable – support for HDR10+ and 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 video – dual-console USB keyboard and mouse control and four USB 2.0 ports for peripherals. True 4K at 3840 x 2160@60Hz 4:4:4 and 4096 x 2160@60Hz 4:4:4 are supported up to 100m over HDBaseT3 certified Cat 6A cable and a long reach mode extends 1080P up to 150m. The unit supports wide resolution ranges and high refresh rates including select 4K 4:2:0 modes at higher frame rates.
Connectivity is comprehensive – each unit offers HDMI ports USB Type A ports for keyboard/mouse and peripherals USB Type B for KVM RS232 DB-9 serial ports RJ-45 GbE passthrough and stereo mic/speaker jacks. The extender requires no driver installation and offers firmware upgradeability plus front-panel LEDs and pushbuttons to select active console control. CEC is passed from local to remote per unit limitations documented in the manual.
