Description
The PE8324G eco PDU is a rack-mount intelligent power distribution unit designed to provide remote metering and switched outlet control for data center and AV installations. It offers 24 AC outlets in a mixed IEC configuration and supports remote management over standard network protocols. The unit emphasizes energy visibility and controlled power sequencing to protect equipment during power cycles and outages.
Key features include individual outlet on/off and power cycle control, outlet group management, and configurable power-on sequencing with delay settings. The PDU provides real-time metering of current, voltage, power, power dissipation, temperature, and humidity with threshold alerts. It also supports proactive overload protection to automatically shut down the last outlet causing overload while honoring configured shutdown priorities.
On the technical side, the PE8324G accepts IEC 60309 32A input and delivers up to 32A total output across 24 outlets (21 x IEC320 C13 and 3 x IEC320 C19). The unit reports outlet-level current, voltage, VA, PF, and kWh and includes two 16A UL489 breakers for branch protection. Environment monitoring is supported via up to four sensor ports and optional door or temperature/humidity sensors.
Connectivity and management support industry-standard protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, DHCP, ARP, NTP, DNS, Telnet, Ping, and SNMP v1/v2/v3. Security features include three-level account/password controls, IP/MAC filter, 128-bit SSL, and RADIUS authentication. The PDU integrates with ATEN CC2000 and eco DC management systems and supports multiple browsers for local web configuration.
The PE8324G is suited to mixed IT and AV racks where controlled sequencing, outlet-level metering, and remote switching are required. Typical applications include server racks, broadcast equipment racks, KVM and network device cabinets, and remote edge sites requiring centralized power visibility. The PDU’s metering and reporting functions enable departmental power allocation and historical energy analysis.
Installation is straightforward using the included rack-mount hardware and a single IEC 60309 32A input connection. The unit supports firmware upgrades over the network to maintain feature and security updates.
